Before you use the PhONEday Convertor‚Ñ¢ you must export the relevant data from your database or accounts application, etc..
The PhONEday Convertor‚Ñ¢ will read tab- or comma-delimited text/ascii files. This means that, if the data file is tab-delimited, there will be a tab character at the end of every field in a record and a return character at the end of every record. Similarly, if it is a comma-delimited file, there will be a comma character at the end of every field and a return character at the end of every record.
Any other format will not be recognised by the software.
Before exporting the data from your application, you must decide which record fields in a particular file contain telephone numbers. You will need to export the records which contain this field. There is no need to export all the fields in the record structure; one or two fields will be sufficient. The less fields the PhONEday Convertor‚Ñ¢ has to analyse, the quicker the process will be.
You must also make sure that, when it comes to importing the converted records back into your database, there is sufficient room in the existing fields to cater for the converted numbers; the field length of most of the converted numbers will have increased by 1 or 2 characters.
You may wish to consult the manual which came with your database/accounts/etc. software about how to go about exporting and importing data.
